hmm today was cool, I went to see a taping of Jay Leno with Joshua, Jessica, my brother, parents, and grandma. hehee and wooo I can pass for a 16 year old, which isnt saying much, but still. Cause you have to be at least 16 to go, and i just lied and said i didnt have a student ID (showed them my library card) and said my birthday was 6/15/89. hehe wooo...it was a close call too. anyways, to get the tickets, my grandma, parents, and i woke up at 6am and headed to burbank to wait in line. hehe it was interesting that we were on the "Days of our Lives" set. so yeah, that's what i did today.
In hawaii i did:
Monday-got to the hotel late at night but went to the international market with my brother once we were settled
tuesday-went around downtown Honolulu and chinatown where we had lunch. after getting back we went to Waikiki Beach to hang around there. it was cool. for dinner, we had Chiles (of all choices)
wednesday-climbed Diamond head (a 1.5 mile hike). it was really cool. the view at the top of the mountain was amazing. hmm I thought it was going to be a lot longer hike, but oh well. After that we went to Hanama (sp?) bay to go snorkling. it was cool we saw a few fish in the coral reef. after snorkling, we went to eat at Roys. a high-end hawaiin restaurant...my choice of course. it was pretty good....just not AMAZING.
thursday-went to Pearl Harbor in the morning. As early as we tried to get there we still had to wait an hour to get the ticket and then wait another two hours for our boat ride to the arizona memorial. anyways, it was pretty exciting. kind of sobering too. when we were done with pearl harbor we went back to the hotel and my brother and i went to waikiki beach. we met up with my parents later on to watch the free hula show they put on on the beach. hehe the little girls who did the hula were sooo cute! and they did the dance from Lilo and Stitch (which is a real hula dance anyways). for dinner we went to a korean fast food restaurant (I know...) and had dinner.
friday- we drove all around the North Shore and went to this really cool beach with REALLY REALLY soft sand. it was amazing. i got a tan there too :-D. so we then drove down more of the north shore and stopped by Sunset Beach and had dinner at this amazing shrimp road stand. omg it was drool worthy of how good it was. garlic spicy shrimp. and it was fresh because the stand also owns their own shrimp farm. haha it was amazing.
saturday-my brother went off with his friend who goes to the university of Hawaii (i know...). but anyways my parents and i drove around north shore again and went to that same beach (with the soft sand) and TRIED to go to a waterfall but it wasn't worth it. so we did some more driving and stuff. when we got back to the hotel, my brother was there. so my parents and i went out to dinner at Sam Choys...yummy food...without my brother because he already ate with his friend.
sunday- early in the morning (like at 6) my dad and I went back to that Hanama Bay to go snorkling again. My mom and brother didnt wanna come so it was just us. It was cool when we got there because it was open but we got free parking and free admission (which usually costs $5 a person). so this time we saw more cool fish and stuff. we didnt stay long though. eh. when we got back the whole family went to the Waikiki art fare to look for a carving that i wanted as a souvenier. didnt find it, but i got a 15 million year old shark tooth instead. we then walked around waikiki more and had lunch. when we got back to the hotel my brother and mom decided to go parasailing. hhahah i didnt feel like going 600 feet up in the air, so only those two went. I stayed in the hotel (using the free internet cafe) with my dad. when they came back, we went to chinatown again for our last dinner in hawaii! *tear* when we got back my parents and brother had an urge to do more body surfing, so we all went back to Waikiki and they went body boarding. haha i didnt feel like getting wet again. but anyways, i saw these guys doing board surfing. it looks so cool! haha instead of body boarding, i would have rather learned how to board surf. but i digress. we then went back to the hotel and then out shopping for last minute souveneirs..
monday- we went to a breakfast buffet as our last meal in hawaii. after eating we got all packed up and left for the airport. a 5 hour flight all the way back to LA.
so that was my week in hawaii. yes its a lot of blabbing but whatever. lol
